The Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Framingham, houses females sentenced to imprisonment, awaiting trial, or committed by the courts for alcohol or substance abuse treatment (MGLA c 125, s 16; c 123, s 35). Under the supervision of the deputy superintendent for programs and treatment, the director of treatment and programs coordinates recreational and treatment programs for sentenced and unsentenced inmates. Program unit subject files are created by the director to administer inmate programs to monitor civil commitments of inmates to special treatment programs.
